A talk by Jack Lohman, CEO of the RBCM, to our members

On May 20th, 2015, Professor Jack Lohman, CEO of the Royal British Columbia Museum, gave an engaging talk to VIOCS members concerning the museum world and what it is about Canada that we might celebrate in 2017 to mark 150 years of Confederation. Drawing extensively upon the writings of BC’s highly-regarded artist Emily Carr, Jack suggested that we might rename our Victoria International Airport to honour her extraordinary portrayal of our natural and cultural landscapes. Following the talk, VIOCS treasurer Dr. Brian Scarfe and his wife, Marg Gardiner, hosted a drinks reception in their residential suite in the Shoal Point Condominium.
